The NY location being fried is the root cause. That resulted in many customers moving to our other locations, plus resulted in one less location to host from. That increased demand on our other locations has filled the machines for GMOD.
I have a couple machines I am working on setting up right now but this takes time and still doesn't tackle the issue of increased demand on our other locations so it may only be open for a couple days when we open it again until we can get things resolved and have our replacement machines and open up the fourth location again.
I hate closing the doors to orders of any type of games we offer, but DGS is commited to only offering quality product.

Right. Well, I'm going to go try Art of War Central. I'll compare the services and, when you guys get your stuff back up, I might come back.

Because the NewYork location fried, I don't have a server any more. And I am unable to get a new one due to this unavailable message.

So, why is it unavailable, and when can I order a new one?

IM FINALLY TAKING MY INTRAWEBS BACK FROM THIS BANDWIDTH BANDIT!

EDIT:

Or renting. Whatever you guys prefer.

I can also knock out the sound files, and any map files I don't really care for, right?

The sorce content ranges from 500mb - 1GB each. We can add the content from most of them to avoid you having to upload, but it does count towards the 11GB total.

Okay then, this may be my final question:

As a dedicated server doesn't care much for all those pretty colors, unless its sending custom ones to clients, I don't really have to upload the materials for each source game, right?

If you have a bunch of addons, I would reccomend zipping them up, and uploading the zip. Then place in a ticket and we will extract them to the desktop and try adding them. If the server appears to start orectly with them all on we'll have you test it. We do this as we realise one by one can take time for those with a lot, and we can see what the server is saying as it starts so are in a better position to see if there is a problem that may require breaking it down to a one by one mod install.

So we don't have access to a console? What a shame.

Also, will this server have all the Source content? (CS:S, DoD:S, HL2, OrangeBox, Etc) I don't think I can fit it all in there with only 11 GB.

10 times is a volume, not number of access. I.E. GMOD base install is about 1GB, so we allow clients too add upto 10GB worth of customization. We base it off the original install as addons, maps, mods ect tend to be larger for games with larger base installs.

You are welcome to try that, but ctually much of the time it fails. The customization that occurs, add to that the fact that there are windows and linux versions. And some files must be copied in one mode or another to transfer correctly means that much of the time you just try to grab a GMOD install and mass copy it you end up with a mess at best, and may well just have a server that won't start.

I didn't think that GarrysMod has linux binaries, or something like that.

So you would recommend it in groups, one addon at a time?

Regardless, that's great. I'll be happy to do business with you guys in the following week or so.

1. Dual quad core xeons, 4-8GB Ram, 1TB. But personally its not the machine that counts as much as it is the hoster. It is possible to load any machine up to the point that it starts lagging or even completely lags out. It is simply a case of the GSPs choice on maintaining quality, which we strive for.
2. Yes you will have FTP access
3. Often times support is within 30 mins, but we only garuntee 3hr responce time.
4. We limit you to 10 times initial install, so with GMOD a max of 11GB should be taken up by your files. We also do not allow BOT addons. And we reserve the right to refuse to renew your server if your addons are way over normal system usage, we have never done this but it is a right we reserve.
5. You are responsible for the perfomance of your addons. Our staff will do there best to assist you, but we do not offer refunds becuase you can't get such and such mod to do this or that.

1. I know the machine doesn't matter too much, but I was suspicious about the prices, to tell you the truth. They're great.

4. 10 times initial install? I can only update my files 10 times?
And I do have quite a few thinks, but nothing absurd like IM CREATING THOUSANDS OF ENTITIES A SECOND AND FLINGING THEM

5. Naturally. Correct me if I'm wrong, but would copy and pasting files from a previous dedicated server to this one work for the most part? I understand that there may be one or two hiccups, but no super massive failures.

Hello everyone, I used to host a 12 person GMod server out of my house, and ever since they updated to Source2007, I can't have more than 4 people in at a time unless I want OMFGWTF lag.

So I'm looking at getting a server here.

My questions/concerns are:

1. CPU, RAM, Bandwidth, and hard drive space. I don't think HD space will be a problem, but you never know.

2. I'm assuming I'll just upload files through an FTP to update the server.

3. If I have any questions that require professional help, how long will it take to get a response from your Support team?

4. Do you guys restrict any modules/addons/whatever-the-hell-else?

5. Any other misc little things I should know about?
